Here at Chapelton we are asked many questions about our products, how to order them and how we supply them to paper and board buyers like you. If you have any specific questions which are not included in this list, please get in touch. We are happy to help.
Many of the materials we supply are available as PEFC or FSC. Some of which will come with accreditation as standard. If FSC of PEFC is not standard and is required an extra surcharge is applicable. These range from £10 – £30 per tonne dependant on material type and supplier.
As a large supplier of food packaging materials this is a very common question we receive. Many of our boards and papers are certified for direct food contact and we are able to advise the best fit for you based on your end use.
We have a wide range of biodegradable, compostable and recycleable products available. This is particularly relevant in the foods packaging sector. When barrier coating is applied to enable direct food contact this can affect the end of life solution for your packaging. Many of the coatings that we apply are compostable, biodegradable and can be recycled as a mono-material. This means it can be disposed of and recycled within the normal paper waste stream. We are more than happy to go into deeper detail on an item by item basis.
Although minimum order quantities vary from supplier to supplier, as a standard the minimum a mill will produce per grammage and sheet size is 2500kg.
A large proportion of the material we supply is produced on a mill making basis. As we offer bespoke materials to a tailored specification mill makings are the most effective supply route. That is not to say stock cannot be held here in the UK or at the mill if requested for regular or contract business.
We are able to offer bespoke sizing depending on your requirements. Particularly small sizes are subject to surcharges, however most requested sizes are surcharge free.
We are updated with weekly production schedules to ensure we can offer the most accurate lead times and delivery dates. We work side by side with our suppliers to keep up to date with material makings.
The main surcharges we include are for accreditation such as PEFC and FSC and small quantity deliveries. As our materials come from all over Europe, full loads of around 23 tonnes are preferred. If full loads are not possible delivery surcharges will be added to account for smaller shipments.
Extras such as hard sizing, small sheet size and coatings to reverse also incur small charges if required.
Shipping times vary depending on location and method of delivery. Material from our European mills can take up to 7 days to be delivered once dispatched, however usually arrive within 3-4 days. If dispatched from the UK, shipping is much quicker and next day delivery is often possible.
